Job Statuses

 Jobs come in variousJob statuses indicate the current stage of a job, helping users track progress, manage workflows, and ensure accurate reporting.

Status Details
NotStarted Job
The job has been created but not yet begun. It is unmanaged and nothas startedno active work or progress. 
Started Job has
The job is in progress. This typically means managed lines have been added or work has beencommenced. started
Completed

Job is

completed
The job has been finished and closed

closed.
A final invoice produceswill ausually completedtrigger the job
 to move to this status.

 

Closed
  • JobThe canjob behas markedbeen asmanually closedclosed.
  • JobThis canmay beoccur closedif forthe severaljob reasons,is no longer inrequired, usethe customer is no longer active, or costs (such as stock or labour) cannot be recovered.
  • CompanyJobs are closed down thatusing the job was contracted to.  Stock and labour lost and not recovered
  • Job is closed via the Job Close function buttonfunction.
Cancelled
  • Job is cancelled
  • Job created was a mistake
  • Job was NotStarted and needs to be taken off the list

InProcessing

Error 

An error has occurred while completing the job

These jobs should be reviewed and corrected.
To resolve, manually close the job toand changeupdate the status from InProcessing to completed,Completed, closedClosed, or cancelled

Cancelled as appropriate.

One should not have any In Processing jobs

 

When running reportsreports, oneyou can look at Started and completedfilter jobs forbased reporting.on their status, such as Started or Completed.

  • Started jobsJobs – These are active jobs that are currently in progress
  • Completed Jobs – These are jobs that have been finished and closed

This allows for accurate tracking of work in progress versus completed work.

Correcting an Incorrect Job Status

If a wrongjob statushas after closing

Toggle betweenbeen closed or completedmarked with the wrong status, it can be corrected by updating the job status.

Go

  • You can toggle between Closed and Completed as required
  • To make this change, navigate to Job History and update the status accordingly

This ensures the job reflects the correct stage for accurate tracking and reporting.

 

 


In Processing Status change
Change

This status occurs when invoicingan andissue arises during invoicing, preventing the Jobjob wasfrom not able to bebeing completed.

Failed inTypically, the final stage of invoice (Invoice most likelyhas processed correctly, but the job nothas completed.failed to update to a completed status.

CorrectTo bycorrect Closingthis:

  • Manually close the job
  • Update the status to Completed

This ensures the job is properly finalised for accurate reporting and marking it as completed.tracking.

Job Status Lines Indicators

Job Costing > Activity > Manage Job

Line statuses provide a clear visual way to track progress by comparing planned (budgeted) quantities against actual usage, while also indicating whether a line has been completed. These colour-coded indicators make it easy to quickly see if a line is on track, completed, or exceeding plan.

The lineplanned work has been completed exactly as expected.

  • Actual quantity balanceequals the budgeted quantity
  • No overuse or shortfall
  • The tick confirms the target has reachedbeen themet

Qty Exceeded

The line quantity has exceededgone beyond the Budgetoriginal versusplan.

  • May indicate additional usage, cost overruns, or scope changes
  • Should be reviewed for accuracy or approval

Is Complete

MarkedThe withline tickhas boxbeen completedmanually marked as finished.

  • No further updates are expected
  • Confirms the line is finalised, regardless of quantities

 Status of line, colours

Not Started – No lines allocated or no marked is complete – RED

In Progress – Line managed – GREEN

Qty Reached – Means the line quantity balance has reached the budget versus actual – Blue with a tick

Qty Exceed – Means that the line quantity has exceeded the Budget versus actual - BLACK

Completed – Marked with tick box completed – Black tick

 Line status comes in three types

Line Status Types

  •  Not Started (Red)
    The =line Redhas not yet been actioned. No work or quantities have been recorded.

  • Started (Green)
    The =line Greenis actively in progress. Work has begun and is being managed.

  • Completed (Blue)
    The =line Bluehas been finished. All required work has been completed and marked accordingly.
