Reference Values and Production Tracking

System Configuration> Administration> Reference Values

The Reference Values isare only used when new items are created or imported manually and NOTare not created from a document that already has a document number.

Documents such as Sales ordersOrders and jobsJobs already have numbersdocument numbers, so reference numbersvalues willare not beused used.for items created from these documents.

InvoiceFor Invoices in preparationPreparation and manualmanually created Job item tracking use, the Production trackingTracking number is used instead.

Unique tracking codes are createdgenerated usingusing:

  • the production tracking code, and
  • the line idID in the table offrom the production tracking.tracking table.

Examples:

  • Manually created production item:
    PROT100-354

    • or

  • Item comingcreated from a document

     (e.g. Job):
    JOB1200-354

JOB1200-354These codes ensure each tracked item can be uniquely identified and traced back to its source.
